Loaders Haul Trucks Articulated haul truck offers payload of nearly 42 tons The TA400 Generation 9 articulated truck is designed to keep productivity levels high fuel consumption low and cycle times short according to Terex The truck has a 444 hp Tier 4 Interim Scania DC13 engine and a maximum payload of 419 tons Its capacity is 303 cu yd The TA400 is equipped with dual retarder systems a transmission retarder and exhaust brake giving operators increased control in loaded downhill hauls It was engineered with a permanent all wheel drive driveline and equalizing rear suspension Terex says a four bar trailing arm suspension system contributes to the trucks ride quality The company also says service points are designed for quick and easy access An electronic assisted hood raise and a fully tilting cab specifically simplify access to major components and ground level service points www terex com Unit enters the 39 ton weight class The L250G from Volvo Construction Equipment is a 39 ton wheel loader thats equipped with a 90 cu yd re handling bucket The bucket is capable of loading a truck in two passes Volvo says The L250G has a new engine and driveline system for improved productivity and it features Z Bar loader linkage that allows for high breakout force for digging in hard materials Its linkage lift arms and cylinders also offer high lift capacity and rapid hydraulic reaction according to the company In addition the unit is fitted with a Tier 4 Interim engine thats married to drivetrain hydraulics and lifting systems A 13 liter six cylinder turbocharged Volvo Advanced Combustion Technology diesel engine features cooled exhaust gas recirculation and a particulate filter with active regeneration The active type diesel particulate filter temporarily holds the particulate matter and then incinerates it further reducing emissions www volvoce com ADT is the largest the company has produced John Deeres 460E articulated dump truck ADT joins the 370E and 410E in the companys E Series According to John Deere the 46 ton 460E is the largest most operator friendly truck it has ever built The 460E features a 135 liter Tier 4 Interim engine with 481 net hp The ZF transmission includes a high capacity retarder eight forward gears and four reverse gears In addition new John Deere hauler axles are designed for heavy duty applications and include on the fly differential locks and outboard planetaries Each axle is independently pressure lubed and filtered The E Series axles use internal wet disc brakes that utilize independent cooling circuits Also John Deere says allowing the differential lock system to run in automatic mode will simplify operation for new operators www johndeere com 20 PIT QUARRY October 2013 www pitandquarry com
