Bridgestone Americas Off Road Tire expands line Bridgestone Commercial Solutions BCS a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations has expanded its line of specially designed loader tires in North America The V Steel J Traction VJT radial off road tire now available in two new sizes 175R25 and 295R25 features a computer optimized center block that minimizes vibration levels Reduced friction between the tires center blocks and the ground improves wear resistance and helps improve tire life says the company With features to improve traction the VJT has a specialized self cleaning tread design and non directional tread pattern to maximize tread volume and traction in all directions The VJT is now available in five sizes 175R25 205R25 235R25 265R25 and 295R25 www bfor com Michelin tire designed for rigid dump trucks Michelins XDR2 tire is designed for rigid dump trucks and offers up to 20 percent more tread life than its predecessor the Michelin XDR tire In addition to the increased tread life the XDR2 tire delivers up to a 10 percent thicker undertread between the protective plies and tread base for better cut and impact resistance With a new self cleaning tread pattern the XDR2 tire combines full depth blocks a 13 percent larger central lug compared to XDR tire and the new non directional design to provide increased protection against aggressions and cut separations The evolving tread design provides an increased contact patch as the tire wears while sculptured cooling vents help keep running temperatures low The XDR2 tire also incorporates Michelins C2 Technology in the casing to provide an overall cooler operating temperature to maximize the potential life of the tire without compromising operating speed or load carrying capacity the company says The XDR2 tire also provides twice the sidewall thickness of the previous generation to resist cuts and abrasions www michelinearthmover com Super Single tire for severe duty applications Goodyears newest Super Single tire is designed for severe duty vocational applications The G278 MSD replaces Goodyears G178 Super Single and provides enhanced mileage thanks to a 1 in larger footprint deeper tread depth and special compounding The rugged crisscross tread design helps provide exceptional off road traction while it helps to pump away water from the tread for enhanced grip The tread design also offers a quiet ride says the company while the tires grooved angles with full width interlocking groove protectors help keep stones from embedding and drilling into the tread Special compounding helps resist cuts chips and tears leading to increased time in service Because the G278 MSD has an improved net footprint pressure distribution is maximized which enhances even wear www goodyear com truck 26 PIT QUARRY November 2011 www pitandquarry com
