W S Tyler announces transition to Haver Boecker name CEMA reports increase in North American shipments The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association CEMA reports that shipments in North America were up 91 percent in 2014 CEMA estimates that shipments totaled more than 11 billion for 2014 a record level increase of 926 million from 2013 shipments of about 10 billion THE LATEST ON EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY W S Tyler which makes the Hydro Clean right is changing its name CEMA estimates that new orders totaled 10908 billion in 2014 New orders in 2014 were 1055 billion more than 2013 representing an increase of 107 percent CEMA tracks new orders and shipped sales volume in nine classes of unit handling equipment and four classes of bulk handling equipment Unit handling orders were up 138 percent and shipments were up 153 percent In the bulk conveying area orders were up 10 percent and shipments were down 50 percent CEMA forecasts a 7 percent increase in North American shipments for 2015 W S Tyler announced at AGG1 that it is expanding to offer the full line of technology provided by its parent company Haver Boecker To better align the companys name with its new strategy and product offerings the W S Tyler Screening Group will be known as Haver Boecker The company says that for a period of transition it will use the name Haver Tyler By the MINExpo International trade show in September 2016 the full transition to Haver Boecker will be complete Treasury secretary Maryland senator visit Ellicott Dredges Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and Sen Ben Cardin D Md visited Ellicott Dredges at its Baltimore plant for a discussion on U S export policies infrastructure investment programs and more Lew met with senior management from Ellicott as well as with shop floor employees who assemble Ellicott dredges Lew also interviewed engineers working on new products and got a demonstration of Ellicotts dredge training simulator the company says BRIEFS Chairman and former CEO of Astec dies J Don Brock chairman and former CEO of Astec Industries died March 10 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga Tenn He was 76 Brock a member of the Pit Quarry Hall of Fame was one of the five founders of Astec which formed in 1972 Under his leadership Brock Astec became a global company with 18 subsidiaries around the world He held about 100 U S and foreign patents on construction machinery and drying equipment Former McLanahan president dies Roy Rumbaugh former president of McLanahan Corp and past chairman of the National Stone Sand Gravel Associations NSSGA Manufacturers Services division died March 20 at his home in Pennsylvania According to NSSGA Rumbaugh played a role in the merger of the National Aggregates Association and National Stone Association which formed NSSGA He was also the second individual to receive NSSGAs Barry K Wendt Commitment Award in 1999 Schenck appoints VP of operations Schenck Process appointed Uwe Väth as its new vice president of operations In this role Väth will be responsible for global manufacturing and the supply chain and purchasing In addition he will assume the role of joint managing director working from the companys headquarters Eriez promotes two Eriez promoted Mike Mankosa from vice president of operations to executive vice president of global technology In addition Eriez promoted Tim Gland to director of Erie Pa operations Gland joined the company one year ago as facilities director 12 PIT QUARRY May 2015 www pitandquarry com
