Greenfield to granite Screen circuit design is integral to high capacity production at the new APAC MidSouth quarry J ust when the nation bemoaned a deepening recession in 2008 rezoning was initiated for a greenfield quarry project that would ultimately become APAC MidSouths Warren County Quarry a state of the art 1200 acre granite processing and rail load out facility near Camak Ga Camak is a small community situated near Interstate 20 between Atlanta and Augusta Ga and it is named for James Camak the first president of the Georgia Railroad Today Camak is a key rail junction From design to construction to startup the Warren County Quarry took a slew of veteran aggregate industry experts engineers and employees to bring the plant into full production all while running on schedule on budget and keeping an open line of communication with regulators local government area residents and neighbors Stone production began in the fall of 2011 and the site celebrated its grand opening and open house festivities in 2012 Today the Warren County Quarry is a 3 million ton per year producer with 90 percent of its products being shipped via rail to customers throughout Florida Georgia and South Carolina Determining material flow During the early stages of the greenfield project Quarry and Mining Consultant David Lange of AME Technologies worked closely SCREENING BY CAROL WASSON At APAC MidSouths Warren County Quarry material is rinsed prior to loading to make it as clean as possible for customers 54 PIT QUARRY March 2013 www pitandquarry com
