THE LATEST ON EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY Bosch Rexroth expands hydraulics operation Bosch Rexroth executives and Bethlehem Pa Mayor Robert Donchez officially open a new hydraulics manufacturing and distribution center in Bethlehem Volvo Construction Equipment Laser Technology develop smartphone apps Volvo Construction Equipment CE created the Volvo CE Insider app that gives North American customers access to the companys latest news product information and special offers Volvo Construction Equipments app is available for smartphones and tablets providing links to product highlights attachment and aftermarket options details on special offers news videos and Volvo Construction Equipments Facebook Twitter YouTube and Flickr social media sites Laser Technologys LaserSoft Measure smartphone app meanwhile is designed to sync with the companys Tru Pulse lasers The app integrates with Bluetooth enabled TruPulse lasers including TruPulse 200X 200B 360B and 360R To fully utilize the apps capabilities LTI offers smartphone and Volvo CEs new app is designed to provide users with details on excavators wheel loaders and more tablet mounting brackets that align the lasers scope to the devices camera allowing users to take an image of each measurement Users can create and review multiple projects and save data from up to four different measurement modes horizontal distance height 2D or 3D missing line and angle B osch Rexroth officially opened a newly expanded hydraulics manufacturing and distribution center in Bethlehem Pa The manufacturing facility houses the companys valve and manifold manufacturing center for mobile and industrial hydraulics The new logistics and distribution facility handles shipments to more than 500 customers including its nationwide network of drive and control distributors the company says The 22 million expansion adds about 150000 sq ft giving the company about 200000 sq ft over two buildings for the distribution and manufacturing operation Not only is Bethlehem a convenient location from which to serve our hydraulics customers in North America but this region has also played a major role in Bosch Rexroths history says Berend Bracht president and CEO of Bosch Rexroth Americas in a press release With the expansion Bosch Rexroth now has seven facilities across two campuses with about 450000 total sq ft for manufacturing distribution logistics administration service and storage in Bethlehem The new facility is the companys second largest hydraulics operation in the U S after its Fountain Inn S C facility that was expanded last year In addition to valves and manifolds the new manufacturing facility produces industrial mobile and compact controls and provides testing and service support The new distribution and logistics facility is where shipping receiving logistics quality control traffic management and accounting are handled The companys overall Bethlehem operations include production for large hydraulic systems and power units About 700 people are employed there Terex Washing Systems establishes sales service facility Terex Washing Systems TWS established a support center in Louisville Ky for all machine sales part sales and service Establishing a dedicated location in North America to stock machines and parts and to manage our sales and service activity in this region was critical to ensure we continue to provide optimum service and support for our distribution network and end users says Sean Loughran TWS director With this facility now fully operational we can react quickly to market demands with on site stock of TWS most popular machines According to a press release TWS now has 23 independent dealers 10 PIT QUARRY June 2014 www pitandquarry com
