UPtoSPEED John Deere provided a demonstration of its 350G LC excavator in Kernersville North Carolina EQUIPMENT DEMO TOUR SHOWCASE THE LATEST FROM JOHN DEERE J ohn Deere hosted a trade press event in Kernersville North Carolina where attendees saw a demonstration of the companys latest excavator offerings Attendees also got a tour of the Deere Hitachi excavator facility and heard about the now 30 year old partnership between John Deere and Hitachi Construction Machinery The 1 million sq ft Kernersville facility established in 1988 produces 13 to 47 metric ton excavator models from John Deere and Hitachi According to the company the Deere Hitachi partnership has resulted in more than 55000 hydraulic excavators for the North American Central American and South American markets Members of the Deere Hitachi partnership led a tour of the Kernersville facility detailing the manufacturing and safety philosophies of the company In addition to the factory tour John Deere provided a demonstration of its 350G LC and 345G LC excavators GOVERNMENT Steel aluminum tariffs officially imposed on US allies he Trump administration announced it will move forward with tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada Mexico and the T European Union EU all of which were previously exempt from the tariffs The tariffs 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum were originally imposed in March on the grounds of national security as well as for leverage in renegotiations of the North American Free Trade Agreement otherwise known as NAFTA The United States has been taken advantage of for many decades on trade President Donald Trump says in a statement Those days are over The decision from the Trump administration to impose the tariffs has been met with steadfast opposition from the involved parties Let me be clear These tariffs are totally unacceptable says Justin Trudeau Canadian prime minister For 150 years Canada has been Americas most steadfast ally That Canada could be considered a national security threat to the United States is inconceivable Canada Mexico and the EU are all expected to respond with retaliatory measures causing concern over possible trade wars Potential trade wars could in turn have a direct effect on the aggregate industry MANUFACTURERS HAVER BOECKER NAMES TECHNICAL APPLICATION SPECIALIST Haver Boecker named Sydney Page as its technical applications specialist In this role Page is responsible for helping processing customers increase efficiencies productivity and return on investment by working closely with Haver Boecker engineers to create custom solutions TELSMITH BRINGS ON SOUTHWEST REGIONAL SALES MANAGER The company hired Dave Noggle as its regional sales manager for the Southwest In his role Noggle is responsible for covering Utah Nevada Idaho Arizona and Wyoming Noggle HYUNDAI CE EXPANDS DEALER NETWORK ADDS TO MARKETING TEAM Hyundai Construction Equipment expanded its North American dealer network and named Chad Parker to the companys marketing team The company added Dakota Prairie serving Mandan North Dakota Stone Equipment headquartered in Birmingham Alabama and Springdale Tractor serving Springdale Arkansas to expand the companys dealer network in the United States NEW CEDARAPIDS DEALER IN NEW YORK Emerald Equipment Systems is now a distributor for Cedarapids products in New York The distributor will offer the Cedarapids line of crushing and screening products within its new equipment and rental fleets Page pitandquarry com July 2018 PIT QUARRY 7 PHOTO BY JOE MCCARTHY
